General objectives

To acquire the knowledge, skills and competences needed to perform the functions of participant applied to different professional sectors in France, specifically:
    • Knowing working conditions that may result in this job or duties during the training period
    • Learn the techniques necessary of training, communication, information in a professional environment
    • Acquire linguistic skills (French), technical know-how and competences (French cultural immersion)
    • General knowledge and specific professional abilities in the administrative sector
      • Language, inter-cultural and transversal competences
      • Business skills (as specified below)
      • Awareness of European citizenship
      • Skills to be acquired under INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND MARKETING
        • Identify documents of sectors and observing their fundamental and obligatory features
        • Editing letters or simple business documents in foreign language following the company models
        • Using informational instruments dedicated to territorial marketing
        • Reading a market survey : consumption tendency, competitors and product’s typology paying attention to eco-friendly proposals
        • Identifying company activities in the local contest
    • Integrate in a French staff and make professional experiences
ARRIVAL AND WELCOME
The 6 participants Boutaina , Jaspreet , Erica , Emilia , Vera and Juliette arrived on Sunday the 28th of August 2016 and finished the programme 2 weeks later on Monday the 12th of September 2016. ALFMED did welcome them in Perpignan in order to bring them to their accommodations. They received an information pack and a short briefing about accommodations and week schedule for the first week.
On Monday the 29th of August they met ALFMED staff and had a meeting in order to explain the program. The next day, they had a guided City tour in Perpignan. In the afternoon they took part in the CV workshop in order to prepare the interviews. Introductory meetings to confirm the internships were organized with all the hosting companies before starting their placements on Tuesday the 1st of September.

Students receive

  • Welcome portfolio including weekly plannings, useful information, maps of the district, accommodation rules, emergency numbers, public local transport, Wi-Fi codes, etc…

  • ALFMED student card

  • Weekly information from ALFMED to give them all the detailed information about outings in Perpignan and activities of the academy

TUTORING & COMPETENCES ASSESSMENT

  • ATELIER CV : Present yourself, explain your studies and profile, ask questions about the company.

  • A meeting is organized with the Company and the Convention signed. Objectives are defined between the student, the Tutor and ALFMED. Local transport is organized for the internships if needed.

  • The tutoring of the participants is done through regular interviews with the ALFMED Tutors : Individual meetings with students.

  • Evaluation and Validation of the training placement: a learning agreement has been signed before the start of the work placement. At the end of the internship period the company tutor did the final competences and skills assessment through the following evaluation document:

    • The final Certificate and Evaluation of the internship by the Hosting Company

    • Assessment of the French level, participants receive their French language level certificate

    • Europass Mobility certificates and certificates of placement is issued under the ERASMUS +

FRENCH IMMERSION

French language level has been monitored on a regular basis

  • prior to arrival by means of ALFMEDs test online
  • The final French evaluation, performed at the end of their 2-weeks stay, on the 9th of September 2016, showed up the following levels :
    • Boutaina – Erica – Emilia – Juliette acquired level B2 “ Independent user” in oral and written French
    • Jaspreet – Vera acquired level B1 “ Independent user” in oral and written French

Thanks to their participation to ALFMED events and social life, they have practiced French with the staff and also with the other foreign students. The international environment of ALFMED has helped them to improve their European Spirit and to broaden their multi-cultural experience.

INTERNSHIPS

Internships were done at ORCHESTRA  – Hôtel MONDIAL – CM MULTISERV – Office de Tourisme de Perpignan
